The annual Maplewood Egg Hunt enjoyed sunny skies today — after being rescheduled to avoid forecasted foul weather on Saturday.
Children ages 8 and under scooped up 6,000 eggs in less than half a minute. Candy prizes were inside of all but six: five eggs contained coupons for free baskets from the Township’s Recreation department, while one special egg held a coupon for the grand prize of a basket from Shenanigans Toys (formerly Scriveners), courtesy of store owner Erin Longstrom.
On hand to officiate: Deputy Mayor Kathleen Leventhal and Maplewood Recreation Director Keith Knudsen — plus, of course, the Easter Bunny.
