The South Mountain YMCA is hosting the 18th annual Duck Race on Memorial Day 2016 (May 29) and is counting on the community’s support to help make this year’s Duck Race the “quackiest” ever.
The Duck Race is a beloved Memorial Day tradition, taking place after the Maplewood Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony at Town Hall. Each year, hundreds of locals cheer on their ducks as they race down the Rahway River in Maplewood, in the quest for prizes — and, of course, glory.
All proceeds will go to the YMCA’s Annual Support Campaign and the Togetherhood initiative, supporting the local South Orange-Maplewood community, including the Department of Child Protection and Permanency.
Levels of support include:
Gold: Large Banner at the start/finish line — $500
Silver: Medium sign in the river — $250
Bronze: Small sign/sandwich board at the ticket booth — $100
Prize sponsor: sponsors & prizes listed on all raffle tickets, $25, $50, $75
If you’re interested in sponsorship, complete the attached form and fax or mail it to the South Mountain YMCA, 13 Jefferson Avenue, Maplewood, NJ 07040. Fax 973 762 2064.
Besides the wonderful exposure and general sense of being terrific community boosters, sponsors also get a charming rubber duck decal — shown here at Maplewood Stationers with owner Charlie Gianni. If you’ve got a shop window, you’re gonna want a duck decal!
