“The Maplewood Health Department is coordinating a program discussing the importance of Advanced Directives, Living Wills and POLST (Practitioner Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment). Planning for End of Life is a public health issue since we will all deal with it- for our loved ones, and/ or for ourselves. However many times, we do not have the conversation until decisions need to be made and many of us are unaware of the tools available to begin the conversation of how we want health care provided. As part of Maplewood Loves Wellness, and advocating for an optimal quality of life for all our community residents, addressing advanced directives provides clarity and a quality of life, honoring the health care decisions of those who are chronically and terminally ill.

This program is open to all Maplewood residents, and is free to the public. The program will be held on Wednesday, September 30th from 2 pm to 3 p.m. at St. George’s Church.
