The Maplewood Library will host a community reception for the Buddhist monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery in Tibet, who will be creating a piece of mandala sand art at the Woodland. The event is free and open to the public on Tuesday, August 11 7:00 pm at the Main Library.
A speaker representing the monks will give a short background talk about their lives and the mandala project, then attendees will have a chance to ask questions and interact with the monks. Refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Able Baker and Friends of the Maplewood Library.
Attendees are asked to enter the library through the lower front entrance, behind the flag pole.
