For the past week, 40 local artists, crafters and collectors have been busy getting ready for Sunday’s Holiday Bizarre Bazaar. The sale, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Woodland in Maplewood, has earned a reputation as an artist and audience “favorite” for its wide range of high-caliber items, and distinctly local flavor.
On sale this season: handmade jewelry, fine art, sewn and knitted textiles, paper goods, amazing vintage finds, tutus for kids, holiday delights, eclectic evening bags, home décor, handmade clothing and a thousand things beyond description. The only thing that all of these items have in common? They are all 100 percent unique.
This season’s sale will feature some of last year’s best work, and a new crop of local artists as well. Back again this year (and more adorable than ever) is the loveable Abominable Snowman, who will gladly let you snap a selfie with him on his Woodland throne – for just a $5 donation to Studio B.
Best of all, you can stroll through the sale with a hot cocoa from Cedar Ridge Bakery, see your neighbors, and bask in the glow of so much local talent.
Studio B, a local arts organization dedicated to the artists and audiences of Maplewood and South Orange, encourages shoppers to make Bizarre Sunday a town-wide event, and to make stops at all of this community’s one-of-a-kind stores.
