Ricalton’s, the restaurant/pub that opened in South Orange last June and instantly became a local mainstay, was just named a “New & Notable” restaurant by New Jersey Monthly magazine in its annual “Best New Restaurants” issue in February.
Noting Ricalton’s “retro look” that honors its namesake, James Ricalton, the review says the restaurant “takes its food seriously.” Singled our are the Guinness-braised short ribs, cod Livornese and seared duck breast with rainbow chard.
NJ Monthly also gives a shout-out to Ricalton’s large number of beers on tap, and quotes co-owner Tom McLaughlin: “We go hard for quality and freshness of ingredients.”
