The following is from Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI)
Over 200 members of the Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI) congregation and local community in South Orange came together to usher in the holiday of Sukkot on Sunday, September 27. Congregants, community members, students and their families enjoyed lunch, made decorations for the Reform synagogue’s sukkah, sang songs, recited blessings and learned about the holiday with clergy members.
Rabbi Daniel Cohen (center) spoke about Sukkot, the annual fall harvest festival, to children and their parents. They learned about the symbols of the holiday, including lulav (bundle of palm, myrtle and willow branches) and the etrog (citrus fruit native to the Middle East).
Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel is located at 432 Scotland Road in South Orange, and serves members as well as preschool and Religious school students from surrounding towns in Essex County.
