Picasso has been invited by the 1978 Maplewood Arts Center to be the featured artist for Black History Month. While he admires and is inspired by his famous ancestor, he feels his own art – inspired by his Afro-Cuban ancestors – which is infused with Afro-Cuban symbols and ideas , speaks for him. He leaves his symbolic imagery open to self interpretation. Live music will be provided by Ahmondylla Best and John Lee.
