James Freedson-Jackson has gone from South Orange to Sundance and back again.
The South Orange Middle School student was at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah last week where he saw a bidding war erupt over his film Cop Car in which he stars with fellow tween Hays Wellford and the legendary Kevin Bacon.
The Guardian reports that Cop Car was a hit at Sundance (read the story here). Ultimately, the independent wing of Focus Features won distribution rights (see the Hollywood Reporter’s story here).
But, until the film has its theatrical release, James is back to being a normal middle schooler. He’s back in South Orange taking his midterms at SOMS today and tomorrow.
