interACT Sings! On the Air at the Burgdorff
interACT Sings! On the Air is a two-night celebration Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 to raise money for the troupe’s upcoming season. The benefit will include a raffle and auction, as well as a reception for supporters of community theatre on each of the two evenings.
Danielle Ferland, who originated the role of “Into the Woods'” Little Red on Broadway, will host the evening performances.
Tickets include food and drinks and are $35 for floor seating and $25 for balcony. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door, or online at interactproductions.tix.com
The reception both evenings begins at 7 p.m. with performances starting at 8 p.m. Read more here.
Downtown After Sundown
The South Orange Village Center Alliance is producing Downtown After Sundown concerts at Spiotta Park and at Sloan Street throughout the summer. Catch concerts this weekend on Friday, August 1 and Saturday, August 2, starting at 7:30 p.m. Read more here.
Summer at the Gazebo on Springfield Avenue
The Maplewood Recreation Department is hosting three summer concerts at the gazebo outside of the Hilton Branch of the Maplewood Library on Springfield Avenue. The first takes place Friday August 1 at 7:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. and features the Joe Taino Trio.
‘Silent Voices’ Exhibit at Gallery 1978
Although the opening reception takes place August 10, the newest piece in artist Anne Dushanko Dobek’s ‘Silent Voices’ series, Promises, Promises: Artifacts and Evidence, will be on exhibit at 1978 Arts Center, 1978 Springfield Ave. in Maplewood, New Jersey starting Sunday, August 3. Paper Mill Conservatory New Voices Concert
Three Maplewood residents and two from South Orange will be among 120 cast members performing in the Paper Mill Playhouse’s Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory New Voices Concert on the mainstage of the Paper Mill Playhouse on August 1 and 2.
There are also three cast members from Millburn and five from Short Hills.
The concert is a culmination of the rigorous five-week program. Find out more here.
