The new CVS pharmacy on Valley Road in Maplewood will open for business on Thursday.
Located across the street from Columbia High School at 453 Valley Road, the store will have a drive thru pharmacy. It replaces a dollar store which was formerly the longtime location of an A&P supermarket.

The Maplewood Planning Board approved the site plan in January of 2014, and demolition began that summer.
“I am excited about the new CVS,” said Mayor Vic DeLuca in an email. “Maplewood residents, and those in surrounding towns, will have more shopping choices, including another outlet for filling prescriptions. The new store, which looks great, will provide jobs and additional tax dollars. I look forward to having CVS become an active member of our community.”
