It was such a hit the last two December holiday seasons, it only made sense to extend it to the warmer months. South Orange’s Pop ‘n Shop, the great pop up store featuring hand-made items from local artisans, artists and craftspeople, returns June 2.
Shoppers from around South Orange, Maplewood and the surrounding area flocked to Pop ‘n Shop, located at 65 South Orange Avenue, for holiday gift items, proving there is a robust market for retail in the Village Center. The store averaged more than $2,000 a day in sales.
Now, Pop ‘n Shop is coming back just in time for spring shopping. Pop ‘n Shop will be open from Thursday, June 2 – Sunday, June 5; and from Thursday, June 9 – Sunday, June 12. Store hours are Noon – 8 PM each day.
Here’s the scoop from Bob Zuckerman, executive director of the South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA): “Our spring Pop ‘n Shop will feature mostly new vendors that you’ve never seen before, selling jewelry, arts, crafts, apparel, gifts and more, with a few returning vendors. Since it’s happening in June, the theme for this spring edition is ‘Dads and Grads’ although there will certainly be items for non-dads and non-grads.”
You can see the entire list of merchants here on the SOVCA website.
The store will be located at 65 South Orange Avenue (the former Love and Yogurt store between Vose Avenue and Scotland Road). Join town officials, SOVCA representatives and store owners for the Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, June 2 from 12 – 12:30 p.m.
