Authors Alan Paul and Andy Aledort Discuss Their New Book Texas Flood at Words on August 13

Local independent bookseller [words] Bookstore will be hosting best selling author and Maplewood resident Alan Paul and co-author Andy Aledort on Tuesday, August 13 at 7:30 PM. The authors will be performing and reading from their recently released biography TEXAS FLOOD: THE INSIDE STORY OF STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN.

TEXAS FLOOD is the first definitive biography of the guitar legend. It includes an afterword by Stevie’s brother Jimmie Vaughan, foreword by  Double Trouble drummer Chris Layton, and afterword by Double Trouble bassist Tommy Shannon.

Receiving early praise from Carlos Santana, TEXAS FLOOD provides the unadulterated facts about Stevie Ray Vaughan from those who were with him throughout every stage of his life and career and those who knew him best; his brother, his band mates, his managers, fellow musicians and many other close friends.

Maplewood resident Alan Paul is the author of the New York Times bestseller ONE WAY OUT: THE INSDIE HISTORY OF THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, which was widely hailed as the definitive book on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band. He is a frequent contributor to the Wall Street Journal and Guitar World Magazine.

Andy Aledort is recognized as an essential contributor to the international music scene for his work as a journalist, instructor and performer for the past 35 years. Having sold over one million guitar instruction DVDs, Andy has toured and recorded with some of rock and roll’s biggest names including Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Miles  and Double Trouble.

The authors will be discussing and signing their book as well as playing several acoustic Stevie Ray Vaughan songs as part of this event.

This event is free and open to the public with no prior purchase or registration required. Event host [words] Bookstore is located at 179 Maplewood Avenue right in the heart of downtown Maplewood.
