As rumors circulate on social media surrounding the deaths of two people on South Fourth Street in Maplewood on Friday, July 11, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office released a brief updated statement on Monday, July 14:
“ECPO is investigating the deaths of two adults in Maplewood. Cause and manner of death are pending autopsy and toxicology reports. This is an active and ongoing investigation, so no additional details are available at this time.”
An ECPO spokesperson said there is “no imminent danger to the community.”
On Friday, July 11, the ECPO provided this statement: “This is an active and ongoing investigation, and no further details are available at this time.”
