I support Maureen Jones and Elizabeth Baker for the Board of Education, as they bring the skills and experience to help our district meet the many challenges before us.

I had the pleasure of serving on the Clinton Elementary PTA during Maureen Jones’ tenure as ELL Liaison, Vice President, and ultimately, President.  Maureen is the rare leader who listens to different voices, yet forms her own opinions, all the while maintaining a level head and an even tone. As an educator who works with children with special needs, Maureen has first-hand knowledge of the obstacles these students face and also of their potential to thrive given appropriate and consistent supports.  Maureen’s perspective will be a tremendous asset to the board.

Elizabeth Baker worked with the Citizen’s Budget Advisory Committee in 2013-14 to shed light on the district’s fiscal constraints and formulate recommendations for short- and long-term budget relief.   She understands that efficiency and accountability within the district must be accompanied by concerted advocacy on the state level – to address both expense and revenue strains.  Elizabeth’s labor relations experience will be invaluable as the board strives to reach fair agreements with employees.

Maureen and Elizabeth have demonstrated track records of service to our schools, and both are fully vested in ensuring a rigorous public education for their children and ours.

Sincerely,

Jenny Lindstrom
