The U13 Cougar Lightning lost 4-1 to Glen Rock in a tough Northern Counties Soccer Association of New Jersey A-level match.
The Lightning are spending their second season in the NCSANJ’s “A” Flight. They have played hard against some of the toughest competition in North Jersey’s travel-soccer league. Their 1-4 record doesn’t reflect how close their games have been.
The team is comprised of Sean Beatty, Xander Broncel, Levi Bryant, Luke Chmiel, John Cutler, Aaron Gallinger, Isaiah Hill, Trey Houghtailing, Kalman Kraham, Patrick Merrigan, Jonathan Oniyama, Devin Rocha, Ashri Settles, Daniel Teitelbaum, Mack Turi, and Atticus Whipple.
The Lightning play the U13 squad from the Tornadoes Soccer Club; gamete is 4 p.m. Sunday at DeHart Field in Maplewood.
