The GenWealth Group in Maplewood is hosting its third annual GenWealth Walks for Hope, which raises money for local causes. This year, the event is being held in honor of beloved Maplewood merchant Angelo Vayas, who passed away from brain cancer in May.
One-hundred percent of funds raised from this 3-mile-walk through downtown Maplewood will benefit The Caroline Fund, which raises money and awareness for brain and spine cancer research at the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center.
“Angelo was a good neighbor and fellow merchant,” said Michael Leanza, CFP, owner of The GenWealth Group in a release. “He supported us when we first launched our practice here in the Village. Because he already owned several successful businesses in town, he showed us the ropes. Having this event in his honor is our way of saying thanks for all he did.”
