Fall registrations are in full swing for local arts programs. Read on:

LaChaney’s — LaChaney’s Dance & Music Academy on Springfield Avenue in Maplewood has taught over 3,000 students since it was established in 2003. Offering dance classes in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, preschool dance classes, karate, fitness, gymnastics and other dance styles — as well as music lessons in piano, guitar, voice, violin, drums and several other instruments. Lydia Johnson Dance — teaching dance technique and choreography in South Orange for children pre-K through grade 12, with the belief that children learn best when they use their creative energy to compose their own dance works. Register online for fall classes here.

Performers Theatre Workshop — Located on Pierson Road in Maplewood, with over 70 classes on Saturday and throughout the week, PTW offers instruction to students ages 3 to 18 in all areas of the performing arts. Geralyn’s Art Studio — Located on Baker Street in Maplewood Village, Autumn Art Classes run from September 22 through December 20 for ages 4 through teenagers. Special cartooning and Mommy & Me classes are available. Register here for fall classes.

The Art Studio — Fall sessions begin the week of September 29 at The Art Studio in Maplewood. Classes meet once a week from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Families are invited to the Sunday Student Art Show. For children in Kindergarten & up, teens and adults. An inventive curriculum incorporates classical training, art appreciation, and the love of learning. Small classes gather in an inspirational studio with an extensive art library, computer technology and all skill levels in a century-old carriage house.

Express Yourself Studios — Kids art classes at this Springfield Avenue institution in Maplewood begin October 14, with registration ending September 30. Students can choose from mixed media, drawing & painting, cartooning, and sculpture. Register here.

Class Act Performing Arts Studio — Located on 128 Irvington Avenue in South Orange, Class Act provides training in musical theater, drama, voice,  and dance — including ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and tap. For beginning, intermediate and advanced students. Find out more here.

ACTivateis a 10-week theatre workshop from interACT Productions just for high school students (Grades 9-12). ACTivate will create original theatre pieces using improvisation, acting skills, playwriting, monologues and ensemble tools. Tuesdays, Sept. 30-Dec. 16, 2014 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at The Baird, 5 Mead Street, South Orange. Registration may be done in person at the Baird or online at www.thebaird.org.

Acting with Emily — Located in Maplewood Village, Acting With Emily offers professional performing arts classes and corporate coaching for all ages, abilities, and aspirations. AWE is staffed with working professionals, well-regarded and respected in their field, teaching and coaching acting for film and television, voice overs, musical theatre, voice, and improv. Musical Theatre Conservatory — Located in West Orange, MTC offers classes and performing arts opportunities to individuals of all ages and skill levels. Fall classes include singing, acting, theatre dance, tap, comedy/improv, T.V. acting, auditioning and more. Sunday and Weekday Classes, ages 5-17. Mark Murphy’s Music — celebrating 10 years in the heart of South Orange, teaching all styles — rock, jazz, classical, pop or otherwise — for piano, guitar, voice, upright and electric bass, drums, violin, viola, sax, clarinet, flute and mandolin, for all ages and levels. Also offer Rock and Pop Band Program, Jazz Improv and Singer Songwriter Program.

Music & More with Kelly — “Committed to bringing the joy of family music making to all families with children ages birth through eight and the adults who love them” at various locations in Maplewood, Millburn, South Orange and beyond (Union, East Hanover). Theatre Next Door & Dancelife Academy — “We offer, dance, acting, singing, and musical theatre classes — the full Broadway experience competitive and performance based! We are located in the third floor loft of SOPAC, One SOPAC Way, South Orange. We took over for Pamdance last season and also have a location in East Hanover, NJ.”
