Supt. Dr. John Ramos sent the following email to the SOMSD community on Dec. 9:
Dear SOMSD Community,
Many thanks to the 250 community members who attended Education Summit 2, to hear directly from the volunteers who served on our Action Planning Teams about the initiatives which they are proposing as first steps in transforming SOMSD into a district which has the capacity to educate students for a world which we have yet to imagine.
We have one more opportunity to hear directly from the Action Planning Teams:
Community Forum on the Strategic Plan Action Plans
Wednesday, December 14, 2016
9:15am-10:30am
Montrose Early Childhood Center, 356 Clark Street, South Orange
The Action Planning Team presentations at the Summit were filmed by CHS students, and we expect to be able to post them next week. In the meantime, you can watch the summary presentation of all of the Action Planning Teams at the November Board of Education meeting here.
We invite community feedback on which specific initiatives you believe to be the most urgent and would like to see implemented early in the process.
- Review the action plans here
- Provide feedback on this survey
- All other comments are welcome via Let’s Talk!
At their December 19, 2016, meeting, the Board of Education will vote on a resolution to adopt the Strategic Plan, accept the Action Plans, and authorize Administration to begin developing an Implementation Schedule.
I look forward to seeing the results of our community’s vision and creative initiatives as we move into the implementation phase of the Strategic Planning Process!
Sincerely,
John J. Ramos, Sr., Ed.D.
