The following was submitted by Realtor Robert Northfield:
Artist Tara O’Leary, whose studio is in Maplewood, will be holding a viewing party of selected works inspired by her trips to Tuscany, New England and Essex County’s South Mountain on Saturday, October 24 at a beautifully restored mansion located at 487 Berkeley Ave, South Orange, NJ. The daytime art viewing open to the public is from 1 pm to 5 pm. A cocktail party will be held that evening at 7 pm at the same address. The public is invited and no RSVP is necessary. All works shown will be on sale.
Artwork will be carefully placed throughout the mansion where people will delight in cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, while perusing the gorgeous rooms that will adorn O’Leary’s signature landscapes using art mediums of pastels and encaustics, which is a specialized wax based paint. Attendees may perhaps enjoy a glass of wine, while viewing paintings of Tuscany’s famed vineyards and architecture, or be swept away in the beauty of O’Leary’s seascapes, and may even recognize the landscapes of the well-traveled South Mountain Reservation.
O’Leary holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, and has attended workshops at the Visual Arts Center of NJ in Summit, NJ and at the Arts Center of NJ in Englewood, NJ. Her Memberships and Associations include SOMA – Maplewood Art Center, the Visual Arts Center of NJ, Millburn Short Hills Art Center, Studio Montclair, The Center of Contemporary Art, Art Space Studios, Connecticut Pastel Society, Art Alliance of Monmouth County, and Guild of Creative Art Shrewsbury.
