The 8th annual World Festival for families in the South Mountain YMCA’s Early Childhood Learning Center took place on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
Some 400 children, parents and teachers were invited to sample foods from all over the world in classrooms that were been transformed into various nations — from Peru to Iceland, Costa Rica to Japan, Italy to Canada.
The classrooms were eye-poppingly arrayed, as children ran through igloos and past erupting volcanoes and sampled jungle juice and bat wings (actually chips).
The event, which also featured a musical performance, was designed to promote an appreciation of diversity among the ECLC families.
