Tony Mazzocchi completed half of a 12-hour round trip from Vermont this morning to file with the Essex County Clerk’s Office to run for the South Orange Maplewood Board of Education.
Mazzocchi joins four others who have filed: Maureen Jones, Elizabeth Baker, Donna Smith and Elissa Malespina.
Today is the deadline for filing. The election is in November.
Donna Smith and Elissa Malespina are running on the same ticket.
There are three seats open on the board.
