Chances are, you’ve seen Alex Kariotis around town.
He’s hard to miss. With the face of a brooding 19th century composer and the hair of a 1980s rock god, Kariotis stands out in a crowd.
Kariotis stands out in other ways as well. His unique vocal talents in opera and rock have taken him all over the globe, from performances as a lyric tenor at Avery Fisher Hall, to stage performances with the Rock Opera Orchestra, to ballparks throughout the U.S. and Canada (Kariotis sings a knock-out national anthem).
Recently, Kariotis traveled to London to film several videos for his latest recording “Alexander Kariotis and the Rock Opera Orchestra.”
A video shot in Abbey Road (“Lennon in Heaven”) will be released later this year. Another video shot on the streets and in the parks of London — “Lucky in Love” — was just released and can be viewed above or on YouTube.
The album is available on iTunes, Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
Maplewood philanthropist and arts patron Tom Kerns is executive producer of the album.
“Alex is a dear friend of mine and it’s been a ton of fun putting this album together,” said Kerns.
