Jelly walked through an unlocked gate and was discovered by staff in less than 5 minutes. At no time were visitors or staff in any immediate danger. The zoo is reviewing protocols and implementing extensive retraining.

While the parking prohibition would make way for bike lanes, the Village engineer advises that parking is inappropriate on West Montrose, with or without bike lanes.
