Friends of South Orange Library presents Singer-Songwriter David Berkeley

October 5, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Ten days after the release of his new cd (Cardboard Boat) and accompanying book of short stories (The Free Brontosaurus), David Berkeley will be giving a free reading and concert at the South Orange Library. A 2015 winner of The Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition, Berkeley joins such previous winners as Lyle Lovett, Nanci Griffith, Steve Earle, James McMurtry, and Robert Earl Keen.

Praise for David Berkeley: The New York Times critic Jon Pareles says “Berkeley sings in a lustrous melancholy voice with shades of Tim Buckley and Nick Drake.”
No Depression: “Berkeley’s songs are supremely melodic in ways only the most skilled singer/songwriters are able to convey.”
Creative Loafing: “Berkeley crafts his songs like watercolor paintings.”
