Jazz Leaps and Turns Workshop

The Connection is hosting a FREE dance workshop, “Jazz Leaps and Turns”, on Sunday, September 27th from 3-5:00pm led by Charis Moses. The workshop is free and open to the public; membership not required.

“Jazz Leaps and Turns” will enhance strength, coordination, flexibility and musicality while developing technique and style. Class begins with a warm-ups, floor and standing exercise continuing with turns, leaps across the floor and combinations. This workshop is appropriate for dancers of all skill levels.

Charis Moses has taught for the following renown organizations: Joffrey, Alvin Ailey, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Gelsey Kirkland Academy, Dance New Amsterdam, and so many more. She has choreographed/staged full –length ballets such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, La Fille’, Mal Garde’, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Raymonda and created many original works as well. Moses currently teaches in the NYC tri-state area, judges for competitions, teaches master classes across the country, and consults studio directors on effective business practices.

Funding has been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs.
